I used to be the sneaker girl. I remember back in college, I would get a new pair every other week. It was my way of convincing myself that sneakers will be the most stylish flats in my eyes. For comfort purposes as well, since I was running around in hallways and uneven cemented walks right through the ever famous SJ Walk, these tied babies were my best bets.
I’m also flat footed, so I can’t wear extremely flat shoes like the ballet flats and something similar to the gladiator sandals. Though I promised this year that I’ll be on a constant search to find the most comfortable sandals. Just so you know how serious my flat footed-ness is, I’ve broken a couple of arch supports and made those flat. The end of my spine hurts and I need to keep on doing stretches to try and soothe it a bit. I’ve also experienced the middle part of my foot cramping causing unbearable pain, so I have to sit down wherever I was. It’s not the most pleasant experience to be working on an event and then crying out “Wait! I’m cramping.” Then people usually expect it to be on a leg muscle and not right smack the under part of the foot. It was like sneakers, rubber shoes or nothing else-
Until the sudden taste change and the goodness of heeled shoes engineered to be comfortable :)
I think it worked well for me. I became confident to try on heels and gradually, just walk in them whenever I go out. The extra inches had people complaining though, but for the people who knew me, they tried to understand. haha It also helped that I’ve been seeing girls of my height or even taller than I am, donning their personalities through heels.
This right here, is CALYSTA by Steve Madden, one of the lovely babies I’ve added to my Must-Get shoes. You’ve seen the other one here. Looks like I’ll have to wait for a bit and get them at the same time, so I can save on shipping. :)
